Noob - Encore tweeter fitment question
« on: 15 Jun 2021, 06:19 pm »
Hello all.  Greetings from Pennsylvania.

I purchased the encore kit and flat pack.

The glue up went fine. When dry fitting the tweeter it took a bit of filing to get it to seat evenly in the cutout but it is still not flush.   Please see pic of how mid sits on top of tweeter.

Other pics of build process included.

Best regards,

Hi biko30,
I had the same problem with mine, just assembled this past weekend. I used the rubber handle of my hammer to (gently!) seat the tweeter, working around the circumference. I couldn't push hard enough with my thumbs!  It's pretty well flush now but looked like yours at first. The woofer seems to flex a bit and when tightened down kind of conforms to the tweeter. I'm a first time builder though, I'm sure there's more experienced advice on here.
Good luck!
Tom

The tweeter should be flush so the woofer sits flat. Sometimes the tweeter fits tightly and needs to be pressed into the opening and/or the screws will pull it down. It's important that the tweeter be fully seated into the opening so that when it is screwed down the gasket creates a seal around the opening.
