X-LS Encore Resistor Rating Help
« on: 22 May 2021, 10:56 pm »
I my kit I got the following:
1)  two LYNK 10W3RJ TWN resistors
2) two LYNK 10W 6R2J TWN resistors
3) two sets of these with their leads twisted together:  LYNK 10W27RJ TWN/LYNK 10W22RJ TWN
Can somebody please tell me what ohm rating these are?  The crossover schematic calls for a 3 ohm, a 6.2 ohm and a 12 ohm.  3) has me completely baffled!
Thanks for your reply.

10W3RJ = 3ohm

10W6R2J = 6.2 ohm

Do the ones twisted together have both ends twisted together?  If so then each twisted pair probably equals 12 ohms.

Yes, the leads on both ends are twisted together.  How does a 27 & a 22 = a 12 Ohm resistor?

Its kinda odd to explain, but 2 resistors in parallel have their total value divided by 4.

22+27Ohm= 49Ohm
49Ohm ÷ 4= 12.25 Ohm

I'm probably oversimplifying it, but it's the easiest way I can explain it.

Interesting.  I would have never figured that out!  Thanks.

Using a pair of resistors was the only way to make a 12 ohm value. We have exhausted every decent 12 ohm resistor in the US and Canada.

Getting parts right now is really tough.
