SP1.7 Audio delay

Ive searched for information on the subject of audio delay functionality on the forum and the Bryston web but there doesn't seem to be anything definitive. Is this upgrade going to happen and if so when? I heard rumours about work that being done on "software for the dae-5 board". Is this the new dsp module and when will it be available to UK owners? How much is it likely to cost?

We are working on new software and one of the features is audio delay but it is still a ways off.

We have to submit units to DTS, Dolby and THX for approval - they always take their time - so that will be the main delay issue.

Hi James,

Does that then move back the expected time frame for the new release from sometime in the Spring (which is March 21st - June 21st) to the summer or later? We all of course want everything to be "right" but just curious.

Hi,

Really don't know if I can answer that because we have not heard back from the powers that be on the timeframe for testing after we submit units . I will let you know as soon as I can.

Does this mean that the software specification is now final, and the only changes made in the next 3-4 weeks will be debugging, or is the spec still fluid? Assuming it is now final, does that mean you can now tell us what features it will include?

Working on the final software changes - hope to have prototype for assessment in about 2 weeks.

Also, when it's done, will it be something that can be done at the local dealer, at home, or requires the unit to be sent back to Bryston? I imagine with the 232 port there needs to be a new backplate?
