Tube-O-Lator

I just received my Mensa upgraded DI/O back from Wayne and I also had the Tube-O-Lator treatment done while it was in the Bolder Cable Hospital.  The only purpose of this post is to tell everyone that if you are considering the Tube-O-Lator treatment, go ahead and buy the entire tube and have Wayne do the treatment.  For only $15 dollars more, you get what appears to be a tube that is 90%+ full.

Treating the DI/O doesn't use very much of the tube at all, so there is a lot of the Tube-O-Lator left.  While the tube is small, it looks like you could treat a whole truckload of components with what's in there.  Wayne suggested using a small artists paintbrush instead of the Q-tip in order to not waist any.

I will be posting my impressions of the full Tube-O-Lator Mensa DI/O, but it is going to be a while before I get to it.  I also plan on comparing it to a level II mod Perp Tech P1A/P3A/P3 Combo.  Most of my system is in storage until I move in a few weeks, so this will not be very soon.  I will not be doing a comparison of a Mensa without the Tube-O-Lator.  For me, it was enough that Jason, Tyson et al heard an improvement and my DI/O was at Waynes getting operated on, so I just figured "what the hell, go ahead and do it".

I know, kind of a boring post.  There was just so much talk about how small the vial was and that it seemed like a giant rip-off.  I thought that if there were others thinking about the Tube-O-Later treatment, this might help them make a more informed decision.

Boy do I hope Nathan doesn't read this.

Hi Steve,

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Mensa!  I'm interested in the Tube-o-lator upgrade as well.  I know some people are sceptical but opinions about audio are rarely universal anyway.

I'm looking forward to your dac shootout.  It would also be interesting to hear your impression of the P1 - Mensa combo.  Used P1s are not too expensive in Hong Kong and, who knows, someday there may even be SOCS software for my speaker.

I planned on trying the Mensa with the P1A as I have heard people having very good results with that combo.

SOCS would be very intriguing for me as well.  I have not seen a list in a long time of speakers SOCS is available for.  Last I checked mine were not on the list.

I'm planning some room treatments, so maybe SOCS won't be needed.

Thanks

Steve
