This is Not a sales Pitch!
« on: 19 Mar 2021, 07:48 pm »
Hi Folks,

I do not want this to come across as a sales pitch but due to a serious shortage of parts we are assuming some Bryston products are going to be difficult to manufacture going forward.

Fortunately we have reasonable stock on most parts we need but just a heads up if you are thinking of purchasing a Bryston product in the next few months now may be the time to act.

Out of curiosity, what are the types of products most impacted?

James you are not the Only Manf with these issues. Several Brands I sell are experiencing the same issue.

I assume this also has the potential to impact repairs or are the shortages mainly in the new cubed components?

I was hoping for the same program for the Bryston 7B as your offering for the Bryston 4B. Guess that will not be happening.

Mainly DAC chips and amplifier parts.

Not surprised at the former, due to the fire at AKM

Not really a surprise and as others have pointed out you aren't the only ones facing the issue.

I think you should just clarify so there is no confusion that you are not discontinuing products, it's just availability is becoming uncertain thus no ETA's for certain products can be given and manufacture may be suspended on certain products until supply re-stabilizes. Am I interpreting that correctly or are you actually about to take the drastic step of discontinuation?

Hi Rod

No discontinuation ... I think it will just be a matter of long wait times after we get through the inventory we have on hand.

Yep its not just Bryston, all manufacturers of anything really are being impacted by a slowdown in manufacturing, due to covid, or due to slow manufacturing, like AKM.    Heck, You checked lumber prices lately, wow !.

Chip shortages are hitting the auto industry too.

Lots of stuff these days is built with connectivity and smarts.
