Our middle child received a job offer here in Spokane. He currently lives in Tucson, and was here earlier in the month to look for gainful employment to get the hell out of Tucson. He sent this to me and my wife yesterday. Needless
to say I teared up big time. I'm so proud.

Lifted verbatim from the internet collective: “Remember the Mark Twain quote, “When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.””
My favorite, in a moment of expressing one of many parental regrets, is from my oldest telling me that we did a better job than I was willing to accept credit for. Fortunately kids are resilient and their memories aren’t necessarily as haunted as ours.
