I actually saw this happen to a Mayflower moving van on the Belt Parkway in NYC back in the late 1970's. Half the furniture and a baby grand piano went flying out the back and landed on the highway. Traffic was backed up for hours. The overpass was lower and the top of the trailer was peeled back like a sardine can.
