That happened to me on the way home to Tucson from Death Valley. Big, long stretches of nothing just begging for speed. Lots of RVs and 5th-wheels in the passing lane too. I finally got my chance and passed an RV at close to 90 mph. A sports car behind me felt the same way and followed me around.
Just as I got even with the RV, Android Auto let me know there was a speed trap ahead. I backed off the accelerator as I zipped past the highway patrol cruiser in the median. I could see in my rear view mirror the cruiser pull out, turn on his lights and get behind the sports car. I kept going at a nice, safe and legal 75 mph.
