Howdy from West Virginia, just getting back into the audio "hobby" after way too many years of just headphones plugged into a laptop. This latest (and likely last, I'm 62 yo) journey started when I noticed a 30% off year end sale for Klipsch speakers. I had a Forte based 5.1 system back in the 90's driven by the Sony ES series seperates but had to sell all that a few years later, although I had the money I spent beyond my means and it caught up to me (still have the Vampire Wire interconnects though). This time around couldn't afford the Forte's (can but can't, been there done that) so the budget this time was to just spend only what I spent on speakers last time. So on Dec.31 I figured it was now or never and ordered a pair of Klipsch RP8000f's and then started looking into the rest of the gear. I knew this time it would have to be Marantz and chose to go with the SR6015, their CD5005 disc player and the Project RPM 3 Carbon tt with the Sumiko Blue #2. And that's it, I'm extemely happy with what I have now, I'm not into the HT thing and have no plans for a sub but will probably add center and surround speakers later just for the TV. I've already upgraded to the acrylic platter, haven't done a side by side but it looks great what with the turntable being white and today the GR Research crossover/HiRez kit finally arrived and I just ordered their 24 strand (16') speaker cables which I hope arrives quicker than the kit. That took 6 weeks which I understand was due to supply issues and have no problem with but the x-over kit only came with tube connectors and I thought it came with all combination of connectors, I ordered the cable kit (tube and banana) when I got the x-over order has shipped e-mail but now I can't start until the speaker kit gets here.
