As another with hearing loss and tinnitus, I can absolutely tell you that the best improvement in sound is by finding an audiologist that is sympathetic to the pursuit of quality sound. Good hearing aids and the effort by the provider to dial them in can extend your ability to appreciate stereo quality for years to come.... but it ain't cheap. And don't even thing that the hearing aid providers have a clue about high end sound. You have to guide them toward what you are looking for. I sat a manufacturers rep down in my listening position in my living room, and described to him where instruments were, how trailing edges of percussion should be audible, image width. It was a world he had not imagined. When I moved diffusers around for him to hear the effect, he was dumbfounded. Then he got serious about doing multiple tweaks to improve his product.
