DVD/BlueRay to two channel preamp
« on: 30 Dec 2020, 06:24 pm »
I am using a Pioneer Elite vsx-30 in Two channel only.
At some point I would like to get something like the AVA Transcendence 10 RB preamp.
Since it does not have any Video inputs or out puts I have questions about using a DVD/Blue ray player.
Is there any problems I should be aware of if I run the audio out from the player to the preamp with RCA and the video to the TV with RCA or HDMI?

Not specifically familiar with your Pio, but as long as you are only doing 2 channel it shouldn't be an issue. Use the "Spare" inputs on the RB10. If you look to do 'surround/mulit-channel' at some point check out Frank's archive Audio Basics on hooking things up. Possible the volume control for audio will lie with the RB10 instead of the receiver in that case. Check your Owner's Manual on the Elite for specifics.
