An old audio geek; new to the 21st century
« on: 8 Dec 2020, 11:32 pm »
Hey guys! I have been listening to "close to the true source" since the late 1970s when I enlisted in the Army and heard some pretty amazing gear from Army buddies coming back from Europe. I re-enlisted for one of the main purposes of grabbing some great audio gear cheaply. As a lot of you know -- this was the height of Japanese audio and European 2 channel audio. I picked up a batch of gear (Japanese, European, and American -- my speakers were AR9s) and just shoveled up TONS of vinyl albums. My last purchase leaving was a Nakamichi ZX-7 which I still own. Over the years I had kids and life caught up with me. I went to 5.1 for the "movie Experience" and lost my ability for critical listening. I'm trying to get back in again and I'm here to find the best way to true fidelity without costing a fortune. Thanks for having me.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
