Up for Sale is a very good condition JDS Labs EL DAC- Works perfectly and sounds great.
This unit has the special digital filter switch allowing YOU to select one of the 5 built in filters that you prefer. The switch was factory installed at the time of purchase and was a special offer from JDS Labs. You can look it up using the term "The Peoples Filter" on the JDS blog.
This is a big deal for those of us with keen ears and a good setup to be able to pick the filter we like best, for me it was the linear phase filter. It just sounded more accurate and right versus the standard default filter, but try all of them. I must admit it did take some careful listening but most folks with good setups can hear the difference.
Includes USB Input, RCA S/PDIF input, and Standard Toslink Optical Input. Uses the AKM 4490 dac chip. Website has additional ASIO driver for Windows or you can use the plug and play Windows or Mac driver. I like the sound of the ASIO driver on my setups best.
Only nit that might be a negative, yet is really a positive, is that the feet are attached with a non-permanent adhesive. This mean than can move a bit when the unit is warm, but it does allow easy access to the screws needed to open it up and change the filter switch.
