This DAC is ~ 3 months old and is the latest version with the AK4493 chip. I used the SPDIF interface and the XLR outputs into my pre.

I just grabbed my first NOS R2R DAC and am liking what I hear with it so far, so time to move on from this one.
I think this is a great sounding DAC for the money, not even counting all of its many features.

Mojo Audio Mystique V3 Balanced 

I've tried a bunch of DACs over the last 6 months (SimAudio 380DSD, Bricasti M3, Topping D90 and the RME).
Factoring in price, the 380DSD and the RME are my favorites.  The RME is the last one of the bunch I still own, other than the new arrival Mystique.
