I will need to think about a new Roon core now that I no longer have a NAD receiver. I see some good choices in this website.

I built two with ROCK, hardware purchased from Amazon, assembly essentially self-explanatory, loading of ROCK also darn easy, then checked both as a new Roon Core and they worked great. Maybe 40 minutes total. I did two because they are a gift for my sisters for their birthday; I run the Nucleus+ but they didn't need the brute hardware, just a reliable core with reasonable RAM.

I run an i7 Fanless Nuc with Rock. Easy to follow setup, very simple to run. USB disc for music files. I upsample all to DSD126, in Roon, with no sweat. If you want stability, and don’t want to tweak, ROCK, on a NUC, is hard to beat.
