Hi everyone!

I am about to change my listening from my studio monitoring system to a first audiophile system.
Very interested to browse around, and hear peoples opinions about a few things I'm looking into such as:
Wharfedale LINTON
LINE MAGNETIC – LM-34IA
Icon Audio Stereo 25 MkII
Yamaha A-S1100

Hoping to have some nice chats!

Welcome!

Intrigued by your interest in going from studio to more of a vintage/laid back sound.  No mention of source(s).  Seems like a retreat to background listening.  Revel M16 or M105 would be my first choice for passive loudspeakers in this price range.  And tube amps can be fun if you like tube rolling, but my experience with EL34 is that they are very warm sounding and not all that detailed.  Have a friend who is very satisfied with a Yamaha integrated, but it's a modern multi-channel one with built in streamer and DAC.  The Yamaha would be far afield from the tube amps you listed.

What is enticing you away from a studio system?  The last two loudspeakers I've purchased have been active, Dynaudio BM5 Mk3 and JBL 708P, quite different products, but have enjoyed both in mid-field setups.

Have you read Floyd Toole's "Sound Reproduction" 3rd edition?  It's the consummate audiophile guide to explain how loudspeakers/subwoofers behave in-room and more.  In it he addresses how modern measuring methods (spinorama and trained double blind comparative testing) can accurately predict which are "good" loudspeakers from "bad" and the need for multiple, carefully placed subwoofers in residentially sized rooms.
