Beautiful creation by Frank Van Alstine. Perfect working condition. This was the control center of a second system. Item functions perfectly and looks outstanding. Phono stage will accommodate MM or MC cartridges. Original remote control, box, shipping materials, owners manual and receipt of purchase included.

From AVA website:

The SLR chassis features a precision remote control volume control along with five sets of remote switchable inputs and two sets of line audio outputs. Additional functions include:

A precision balance control.
Mono/Stereo - to get mono audio sources (such as older TV and other video sources) to both left and right channels and to quiet noisy FM broadcast and old records.
Low Gain - to allow better volume control use with the high-efficiency speakers and high gain amplifiers.
High Filter - to tame excess brightness from low quality sources.
Low Filter - to deal with warped records and turntable rumble.
Support for tape monitoring.
A built-in high quality headphone amplifier.
The 1/4" sculpted aluminum face plate is finished with our incredibly durable double-anodized process is standard. All RCA jacks are premium quality, gold plated, heavy duty parts. A removable IEC power cord is standard as well.

Dimensions: 17" wide x 12" deep x 3.5" high. Shipping weight is 17 pounds.

what are the specs on the mm/mc phono stage built into the preamp?  the van alstine site does not even give specs... no one will touch a phono stage without knowing the gain it provides

Thank you for the question. Here are the gain specifications from the AVA website.

The Vision Q Phono Preamplifier provides 40 dB gain for normal moving magnet cartridges and switchable 54 dB, 60 dB, and 66 dB gain for moving coil cartridges. The load input settings for moving coil cartridges range from 30 ohm to 1K ohm with many settings in between. This is all done with a 10-position dip switch per channel.

If any other questions arise, please ask. Thank you!
