Whose that Guy?
« on: 29 Aug 2020, 07:27 pm »
Watched a Grand Funk video on Youtube, never seen them play but listen to 'Caught in the Act' all the time. Great album and unfortunately the band never reached its full potential, but they where good.

Anyway at the 20:00 mark Freddie King come on and plays a set. Man this guy could play and he shows here his ability to solo, and it's a real treat. So I listen to an album by Freddie King on Youtube and he doesn't normally solo like he does on this video.

Freddie King is most likely a Blues legend and I was unaware that I had heard some of his songs played by musicians like Terry Edmunds.

Give a listen if interested

Thanks for posting that.
He's always been my favorite out of the three Kings (BB, Albert and Freddie).
I was talking about him a few nights ago as I bought a Gibson Les Paul gold top with P90s and who was the first person to appear with one of those on an album cover back in the 50s?
Freddie King.
Les Paul was supposedly horrified as he wanted it to be seen as a jazz guitarist's instrument which I found funny.
