Sputnik is a smart horror thriller that has style, from the brutal Russian architecture, bleak surroundings with a grey and black color palate, a creepy creature and a plot that surprises. No jump scares like American horror but a disturbing, slow building horror. Plenty of gore and suspense with terrific acting. In Russian with English subtitles.

 

The story is so great that Sputnik will eventually be remade by an American director, change the title and add car chases and along the way loose the Russian soul that makes this a great horror film. Watch it while you can.
