Smokin' Jazz Band, the John Kregor Trio

Okay,
Here is a shameless plug for my friend John Kregor's band.  I've been around the live music scene in Chicago since my garage band highschool days and my college days in which I worked for a local sound production company.  I worked as a "roadie" (don't know if that's technically accurate because we set up local shows at fests, etc., so we weren't technically on the road) just to be around live music.  Not bragging but I've seen countless GREAT guitarists in every musical category (Rock, Classical, Jazz, Blues, etc.) and NONE were as good as John Kregor.  He plays only Jazz and his trio is tight and very entertaining.

John has played with several big names including Michael Brecker and has composed some amazing Jazz at a young age.  Here is a link to his latest CD, available on Amazon.  I've got bootlegs of older stuff from different lineups but this one looks to be the strongest he has put together.  I've ordered mine and will keep you posted.  His style is all Jazz and he takes a lot of chances (musically) on all of his live sessions and recordings.  He is a guy who plays effortlessly and seems to live and breath music.

Check out the version of  the Miles Davis/Bill Evans "Blue in Green".  This is the kind of Jazz I love.

Let me know what you think!
