Bryston 7B SST3 specs differ from SST2, why?
« on: 27 Jun 2020, 06:37 pm »
Hi James,

I was wondering if you could offer an explanation, 7B SST2 shows slew rate as >160V/µs while SST2 shows >60V/µS, why would that be the case?

Thanks,
Sasha

Hi Sasha

I think that is incorrect - the SST2 was also 160 but I will confirm with engineering.

I just realized I typed the question incorrectly, the specs for SST3 show >60V/µS, while for SST2 show >160V/µs. Maybe digit "1" was lost when manual was composed for SST3?

For all of our common ground amplifiers, including the 4B, 3B, and 2B, the slew rate is 60 V/ms.  For all bridged mode amplifiers, including the 7B, 14B, and 28B, the slew rate is double, at 120 V/ms.  This applies to all SST/SST2/Cubed models.

Unfortunately, some owner's manuals made it to print with errors in the slew rate specifications...

Thanks,

Mike
