I liked Artemis Fowl. Great story, memorable characters, excellent production values, all and all a colorful adventure. I didn't read any of the books so I watched with an open mind. Yes it borrowed a lot of stuff from many other films, think of it as an homage. Disney made a feel good, very family friendly film with nothing emotionally deep, perfect for these times. The film does not deserve 10% on RT, the critics must be insanely grumpy from not being able to go to theaters and they completely forgot what it is like to be 10 years old (no, I'm 12).
I'm looking forward to the sequel.
