Hi Jim,

Out of curiosity I checked out your Oboe...  wow, that's pretty cool - headphone jack, line stage and built-in phono stage w/multiple gains possible...  that's a very versatile unit, and not too pricey, either...  With that I could set up an office vinyl headphone system or use it in my main system for MC carts (when I get one...).  Does the balance work the same way as on the clarinet? (that is, just a fine centering balance)  I've grown to like that quite a bit...

Yes, BALANCE control is a fine-tune, just like Clarinet.  In fact, I use the same parts (including SELECT switch) as in Clarinet.  So component quality is pretty darn good in this unit.  All signal capacitors are polypropylene.  The power transformer is symmetrically wound parallel for minimal external fields.

And only one wire to solder!
