Best place to buy Dynavector 10x5 cart?

Finally getting around to replacing the stock Goldring on my MMF-5.

If I can find the 10x5 for a decent price, I'll go that way.
Otherwise, I'll probably go with a Shure M97xE and save my money for a Teres down the line.

Any recommendations?
Anyone have a virtually new one laying around they want to let go at a sizable discount?

I paid full retail for mine at Needledoctor but there was a guy selling them on Audiogon that was discounting them into the 200's.

Someone suggested that I consider the next model, the 20x.  However, I didn't and haven't heard it.  The 10x5 has been a real pleasure for me.  It's as good as I feel I'll ever need.  I've been auditioning Eastern Electric's new phono pre and I'm floored at the dynamic range, frequency response, and imaging.  Superb.

If you plan on getting a Teres later, why not get the cart to go on it now and enjoy?   Cartridges last for many years... might as well start breaking it in at least.. :)

Great cart- I don't know anyone who discounts them new, but remember you can't replace the stylus on it, so that should be a consideration if you want to buy used.  You need to prove you bought it from a dealer to get the discounted exchange for a busted one.

Thanks for the info.

I emailed a couple of the dealers on 'gon (my phono stage came from one of them).  I may go ahead and get the Shure as a backup anyway.

Made the mistake of perusing the Teres website tonight.   Good thing there isn't one I could listen to in Houston.... :P
