BTimDP Pi

Long time Sonos user here.  Then I made the Wyred4Sound modifications to the ZP90 and ran it through a Wadia 321. Good sound.    Service-wise I started with Napster then Spotify then Deezer and now Qobuz.    With availability of 24/96 and above content it was time to say goodbye to the old Sonos technology.  It looked like it was going to be a Blue sound product until I discovered the BDP Pi.  Piece is a little out of my price range so hovered patiently over the used market and finally scored a unit out of FL.   When I fired it up and kicked off the Manic Moose interface on a late model iPad I thought to myself "you're shit'n me" (YSM), especially after the robust and polished Sonos interface.  Then I tried to do a firmware update and it errors out , YSM.  Then I try to out the media player and finally get some Qobuz going but its flake city.  So I call up Bryston thinking since I bought it off the used market I was proly gonna be on my own.  Tech ask a few questions about what happened and without further ado he ships me a new SD card, Screws and wrench.  Installation goes sooth and up she comes.  Nice.  One of my favorite radio stations is RadioParadise and low and behold there is now an RP app.  I kick that off and it plays about 4 songs and then stops, YSM    .  This was the problems that plagues the RP Airplay apps.  Bryston acknowledges the RP app  problem and I move on.  At this point I am really happy with the support.  Then I do a trial on Roon and make the pi and endpoint , all goes smooth,  happiness meter moving on up, especially since the Roon RP implementation is solid.  Then another firmware update comes online and I apply that.    Read the release notes and immediately jump over and try out the stability of the RP app within MPD, Solid.  YAY!  Then as I am listening I'm like wait , what ?  I jump back to Roon and listen to RP then back to MM oooh Nooo.  The MM RP app SQ way better than Roon.  Search around and find the long threads about the MPD vs Roon SQ.  Been doing much comparison.  So far MPD gets my vote but I need to get the Roon Core onto a Sonic Transport and off my old iMac.  Then I acquired a BOT-1.  Same stumbling coming out of the gate with the BOT-1 but Bryston support was there at every turn and now she is all set.  Really happy with the products and as everybody here already knows the support is stellar.   :green:
