Box volume change with No-Res?

Should you increase the box volume to make up for the volume of the no-res you add to it?

No. While the damping layer takes up a little of the internal volume, the foam slows down air movement which acts like a bigger box. So the gain from the foam offsets the loss from the damping layer. The result being NoRez is volume neutral so no change in box size is necessary.

That is why  it is important for anyone    making their own  no-rez (heavy floor  tiles/OCF) it is important to use the  open cell foam

Good info, Thanks.
I was wondering about that.
I will be installing No-Rez in some new CST-1's when it arrives.

I was wondering about that. I was building a small MLTL unit and opted to not use No-rez on it since the thickness of the turn was only 1". Figured that it would screw up the design. Using 1/2" felt instead, which is what the designer recommends.

I am using the no-rez in my subs and in my woofer cabinet.
