X-Voce plans in SAE?
« on: 7 May 2020, 08:23 pm »
Hi All,

I just received an X-Voce kit from Danny and perusing through the plans I see the measurements are metric and utilize a lot of mitered edges. I'm planning to do simple butt joints so before I go about creating a translated plan I thought I'd ask the group here if anyone has already done this work and if so, if you wouldn't mind sharing with me? Thanks in advance!

Thanks CCD! I couldn't help myself so I calculated what I think are the correct sizes and shot them over to Danny to take a look. If they're correct I'll post them with Danny's ok in case anyone else is working on one.

I've been wanting to convert those drawings for a while now. I just have not had time to get to it.

Just divide all   mm by 25.4  for  " s
LOL,  I'm in a constant battle  with mm/" 's, would be  better if everyone would  just    use  mm like over  99% of the planet does

Danny if the dimensions I emailed over to you are correct I can post them and we’ll crowdsource some plans for you.

I started using a converter to transfer the measurements over but they are slightly off from the normal inch & fraction that we use here. I started to have visions of edges that don’t line up because the geometry no longer matches. So I found an old post of Danny’s with the outer dimensions in inches and used that along with some of the metric dimensions to create what I think are the right overall dimensions. Guess that makes me a 1%er too!
