Tube amp for Salk ss9.5"s
« on: 29 Apr 2020, 02:13 pm »
I'm new to this site and would like your thoughts as to a tube amp to mate with my potential purchase Salk's SS9.5 speakers. I currently have on hand  Canary CA339-MKII monoblocks ( 50 watts, using 4 X 300B tubes per side ).

Take a look at my comments (hilde45) and the replies by Atmasphere (a longtime amp maker, very knowledgeable): https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/system-assembled-only-a-final-decision-about-speakers-remains?page=2

He specifically discusses power and double woofers.

Welcome to AC!  Great choice in speakers.  The Salk Circle may have suggestions.  This is just one thread - https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=168930.0

Suggestions depend on the speaker sensitivity and impedance that you not informed.

Salk SS9.5s are average efficiency - http://www.salksound.com/model.php?model=SS+9.5  so if your room is large and/or you listen on the loud side you need to be mindful of that.
