That rap song I've been hearing from passing cars for the last 20 years.  You know, the one with the booming bass.  They always seem to be playing that same song.

Our local classic rock station.  There are 20 songs on repeat.  No lie.  i.e. Rush "Tom Sawyer", Queen "We Will Rock You", Heart "Barracuda".  Nuf said.

Oh jeez this is a thread I will certainly be monitoring consistently. So good. For my vote it is AC/DC - T.N.T.

That's one of the reasons I don't listen to radio.  They tend to have a playlist of a limited number of songs and after a few days of listening, never mind the fact that discs or files sound better), fatigue of certain things starts to set in.  I loved radio in the early days (remember when there was no rock on FM) as it didn't have the restrictive nature of today's playlists or even song times.

Pachebel's Canon in D

It was wildly popular in the composer's own time (est. 1680-1700) then it mercifully faded out into oblivion.
Then in 1968 a tasteless fool recorded it and reignited the devil's work.

I'm going to nominate Hotel California by the Eagles.

Haven't taken it out of my playlist yet though. :smoke:

I remember when AM was onboard for music.  Then FM came along and that was the bomb in terms of reproduction.  That's (as we know) is why AM went to the talk format after FM took things over (musically).  And, BTW I too don't care about today's FM.  So much in fact I'll look for a any station carrying financial info.

I've loved Zeppelin since I was a skinny 12 year old in 1975. I can happily listen to every one of their songs, except STH.
Zep IV is in regular rotation in this household but I'll skip that song every time, no matter what the source is I'm using. FM radio did a great job of killing it, and a bunch of other good songs like Freebird, Hotel California and on and on.

I heard once (I know, terrible way to start a post) that stations get a break on the royalty payments if they purchase "packages" of songs over a certain period of time. I don't know if this is the case, but a couple stations here seem to have a rule they play HC or Bohemian Rhapsody every day.

I have a 3 year old granddaughter and I teach Sunday School preschool.  This may not be what you had in mind, but I cannot stand Baby Shark!

"Amazing Grace", by anybody, and "Hallelujah" by anybody. Call me jaded.

Oh, and "In A Gadda Da Vida", back in the day:

Second that. Followed closely by Free Bird.

Free bird may be the most annoying song ever.

Although Eric Clapton has always been one of my idols I am so tired of hearing the same old songs on the radio. And one of the all time worst songs ever written or performed is Wonderful Tonight.

It took two full pages to get to

Maggie May?

I didn't mind it the first 25,000 times, but after that, something snapped.

And most everything else on your friendly local 'Classic Rock' station playlist.

I can't stand the fact that in the rock genre alone there are literally tens of thousands of songs that could be played yet radio stations rotate the same "hits" day after day, year after year, yes, decade after decade. Obviously they've determined that audiences prefer familiarity over hearing something new or different. However, with few exceptions even great songs become somewhat annoying to me after I've heard them dozens of times.

Radio stations must have a group of songs run on a loop. And they play the same loop, day and after day..
