Reeling in Another Fish - Greetings from SoCal
« on: 25 Apr 2020, 08:20 pm »
Hello All,

Mike here from the LA area of SoCal.

First, I hope this post finds all of you doing okay during this time of uncertainty.

Well, Danny and GR Research is reeling in another 'fish' from the vast social media ocean.

There I was, just under two weeks ago, watching a number YouTube videos about making a Bluetooth speaker
Aha, a new video in my feed. Title : "Is DIY Audio REALLY worth it? Hmm, sounds promising. I give it a view. I watch it again.
I search out the YouTube channel, watch a few more videos. Subscribe to the GR Research channel. Watch more videos.

'Wait' I say to myself. 'There must be a web site somewhere, right?' Found it! :thumb:
I started this initial journey around 8pm one night. Next time I looked at the clock it said 2:30 am.
But, I am not finished. I reluctantly go to bed.

Next morning I need to do my work. I am an adjunct professor teaching accounting courses.
Can't wait to get to my newest obsession. Spend several days perusing the GR website on my off time.
Woodworking is a hobby of mine. I love music  :D.
Danny is speaking to the value of DIY audio
and it is hitting all the value propositions I know so well from my accounting knowledge .

I start the process of softening up the MRSs. Tough sell, but she likes music as well. Suggestions guys?
Today I officially signed up for this forum. Looking forward to talking with you all.
My initial journey is almost complete.
Will Danny reel in another 'fish'?  :icon_lol:
Only time will tell.

But, buried in the pages of this forum is Danny's secrete weapon on me: Those x-mtm encores  :green:.

Welcome Mike from a fellow So Cal Native,
Can’t go wrong with GR Research designs I have built and owned seven now. As I sit here typing, I am listening to “Kieth Don’t Go” from Nils Lofgren. Playing at live levels through big 4 way custom floor standers  Danny designed the crossover for.

Mind is blown every time I listen.  :thumb:

Sounds Awesome! I am just a newbie admiring the eye and potential sound candy on this forum. Any pictures you could share of GR Research designs? If not, that's okay. Hope your day and next week goes well.
