What is the input impedance of the 550-exr6? I am curious as to its ability to mate with a tube pre

I once asked the same question. I believe it was one megohm. Or a million. It's plenty high enough for any tube preamp.

One meg ohm is correct.  An easy load for any preamp to drive.
