Three (3) 6350 Vacuum Tubes Sylvania GE Amplitrex Tested - $20 (Shipped in USA)
This listing is for a group of one VTL branded (and I believe Sylvania made) and two General Electric made 6350 vacuum tubes.
All three tubes have black humped plates. Tube #1 has a D getter element, while tubes #2 and #3 have a halo getter element.
From what I have read, the 6350 is similar to a 12AU7/12BH7 except that the pins corresponding to the grid and plate of each triode are reversed.
In other words, these are not drop in subs for a 12AU7/12BH7, but depending on how your unit is wired they may be compatible.
My understand is that these are most commonly used in VTL stereo equipment.
The 6350 was supposed to have been manufactured to tight specs, so they could be nice subs if compatible.
I tested these on an Amplitrex AT-1000 connected to a regulated power supply. The tubes were tested in fixed bias mode. I ran the test cycle at least twice for better warmup and stabilization, and the test results are from the last cycle.
Spec transconductance (Gm) on the AT-1000 is 4.6 mA/V.
The test results are as follows:
Tube #1 4.8/4.9
Tube #2 4.5/4.4
Tube #3 4.4/4.4
Based on the test results, tubes #2 and #3 seem to be a very nicely matched and balanced pair.
These tubes should be considered “USED” for the purposes of this sale.
