Ending 18 year hiatus from audio
« on: 11 Mar 2020, 08:39 am »
Hi all!!

I'm Angelo, based in Bangkok, Thailand and Im an "audio addict" who had to take a break from all things audio 18 years ago.
This time around, I will be setting up small home theater/music system in the new house we are moving into in a couple of months.
This site has good reading, lots of unbiased opinions and a deep roster of knowledgeable members who are generous in sharing their experiences. That's exactly what I need to help me catch up and hopefully put me in good stead setting up this system.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome!

If a strong A/V priority recommend posting on the Home Theater and Video circle.

What brands are available there to audition?

What are the import duties like?

What's your budget and goals (number of channels, room size, audio or A/V priority)?

Welcome.

I am new also, returning after a long hiatus also because of raising a family: school, sports (travel/AAA hockey), camping, shopping for clothes/shoes, meal times....the typical day-to-day stuff.

I started with an integrated amp and a pair of speakers.

Good Luck. :thumb:

AngeloAVR, Bangkok, what a magical place.  Uncle Sam's Ship Orleck DD886 took the up river trip in 1969 for one week.  Beautiful place, wonderful people, so many stereo shops.  The Bhat was 20 to one US.  One of two places in the world I would cheerfully go back too.  'One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble'.
