BDP-1 Shairport?

Hello! My BDP-1 has weak distorted output using Shairport-sync. I checked the connections (BNC adaptor/coax/NAD D1020) and the other settings (MPD, USB drive) are working normally. The web interface does warn "reliability may vary" and that it's an Airplay emulator for Linux.
The Bryston showed up as an output device for my Mac Mini. My usual DAC connection by USB is still available but it would be nice to understand the problem.
Has anyone encountered this? Suggestions?

It applies a software volume control, are you setting the volume on your source device to 100% volume (ie iPhone, mac mini, etc)? Also I recommend you use Shairport-sync, its a more up to date and better implementation.

Thanks! The Mac Mini had a volume control I hadn't noticed. All is well!
