Just won a Van Alstine Double 400

It doesn’t work so I will add it to my Van Alstine amplifier collection.  Looks very cool, however.  Anyone else have one or had one?  Thanks!

From what I read, this amplifier put Van Alstine on the audiophile map. It was reviewed by the Absolute Sound.  Dynaco liked it so much they stole the design!  I may try to get this going as it appears to be physically in good shape.

Dynaco stole from Frank, too? I know my old B&K ST-140 was at the center of an AVA topology theft controversy.

Everyone seems to "borrow" ideas from Frank. That's why I just cut out the middle man and bought my stuff from him.

A company that did a reissue ST-70 awhile back actually credited him by name for the design features they stole.

This can probably be resuscitated. Anything AVA is almost indestructible. I'd call them. I assume you've checked the line fuse. Its a big, heavy amp so hopefully it can be solved without shipping, but if you have $0 in it, what the hey...
