Hi, all. I started my audio journey when I pulled some records off a bookshelf when I was about eight years old and put them on the platter of a portable box record player. The albums included Rhapsody in Blue, Dave Pell plays Artie Shaw, and a Benny Goodman LP the details of which I can't remember. I built a crystal radio within a year or so of that, and moved on to a transistor radio with a single earphone that I used to listen to Chicago AM radio after I was supposed to be asleep. This was all before 1960. The speaker of the radio in my mom's second hand '56 Chevy played Elvis Presley, all kinds of Top 40 pop, and then The Beatles in the early '60s. I built a HeathKit stereo in the late '60s, and was off to the races from there. Currently, I'm running a Sansui integrated amp that I bought in 1972, a pair of two year old ELAC B 6.2. 2.0s, and a cheap Audio Technica turntable.
Glad to be here!
