My name is Mark Hubbard. I'm a retired, 70-year-old audiophile who has lived in the Eureka/Arcata area of coastal northern California since 1970, except for three years I spent in Eugene, Oregon in the 1970s to complete my Bachelor's degree in Public Affairs (public administration) from the University of Oregon. I returned to the Eureka/Arcata area as soon as I could after graduation. This is my home.
My wife, Sue, and I have been married for over 35 years and have lived at the same address and phone number since buying our house in 1995 (mortgage paid off several years ago through diligent over-payment of the principal each month). I use my real name on eBay (mark_hubbard, with 100% positive feedback since signing up in 1997), on Audiogon (mark_hubbard, with 100% positive feedback since signing up in 2002), and on USAudiomart and here at AudioCircle, where I am brand new and looking for a less expensive venue for selling and buying than on eBay and Audiogon.
I value integrity, honesty and quality customer service (given and received). I treat sellers and buyers as if each is a long-term close personal friend. I live by the Golden Rule. With hundreds of transactions under my belt, I have never been ripped off or had a bad experience buying or selling online (except with UPS as a carrier -- I much prefer FedEx Ground or Priority Mail for smaller items). The fact is that most people are good, honest and reliable. The key is good and thorough communications before and after the sale.
