Anyone Have a BP25 with SPS2?
« on: 3 Feb 2020, 03:25 am »
My SPS2 has a mild hum.  Not loud....audible within say 12 inches.... I guess I could bust out my sound level meter when back home ....but curious if others notice the same or if these units should be close to silent. Thanks

Gawd - teach me to post in the middle of the night when something crosses my mind.  The power unit is called an MPS-1.  Sorry for confusion.  Curious if others have noticeable hum.

Hi Matt

Hum from the MPS-1 or through the speakers?

Thanks James.  The MPS-1 itself.  Not loud, but noticeable up close.

I think that would be normal as it is a transformer.  One thing you could check is to see that the mounting bolts are tightened.

Great, thanks.  Incidentally I just picked up a used PS3, so will be interesting to compare.  Matt
