  • I have tin ears.
Sold for $1900.  First of all, I do not use vinyl for music playback, but I love the look of some of the vintage gear โ€“ at one time I had 5 Transcriptors tables on display. When I saw this unit for sale, it was a matter of desire over my pocketbook.  I quickly discovered that almost all of these units had worn out rubber feet and new ones were not available, so I made these out of a sheet of sorbothane and some Radio Control model aircraft tires.  They look and work great.  Next I purchased a used Premiere MMT arm and a new 12โ€ EMT 997 wood clone arm from a gentleman in Latvia.  I added a $40 cueing lever to the clone arm.  Then I purchased an aftermarket armboard for the 12โ€ arm and a used factory armboard for normal tonearms.  I was going to mount 3 arms but then decided that the 2 were enough, so there is a spare armboard.  I wired both arms to RCA plugs so one can use standard interconnects to go to the electronics. Cartridges are both Ortofon - a 2M Red ($100) and an Omega (cost abt $40). I then added the record weight and dust wand. The Premiere arm is working, but it seems a bit loose in the bearings to me.  You will need some kind of alignment tool, like the Feickert, to set the armboards at the correct angles. The table runs at both 33 and 45 and is very stable and unwavering.  The  2 knobs for speed control are not stock, but look and work fine.  My price is $1950 which includes shipping in CONUS and Paypal thru Friends and Family.  I can throw in a Schiit Mani phono pre for the $80 I paid when I bought it here on AudioCircle.  I will have to package it very carefully with lots of bubble wrap, so the box will be a bit larger than the table.   Glynn Wilson 318-734-4655 glynnwilson@comcast.net.
