Unfortunately no, only the 845 amp with a new 20V heather. The 211 and GM70 are incompatible due different gain. The good news are the Pentode GK71 have great sound already with 800V, not need the 1200V from the GM70 to sound good.
I did compare GM70 VS GK71 in two identical monoblock amp, one used GM70, the other used GK71. I end up chosing to complete the amp with GM70. The reason is that GM70 copper plate do sound better (much clearer and detail in the mid, guitar, violin sounded much much natural than GK71. GM70 tube become pricey now, it cost anywhere from 6-8 times the GM70 graphite version.
Thanks for inform. The GM70 copper plate and metal plate were made for a short period only after the WW2 due graphite shortage.
I am looking to see what people are using in there 211 tube amps. I have a NAT SE2SE2 amp it uses two 211 tubes and two 6N1 P tubes. I see so many Shuguagn and Psvane tubes at all kinds of. Prices some almost as pricey as NOS GE and RCA tubes so what are people using . I am using the Psvane premium grade 211 T MK 2 I picked the amp up used and it had Sino tubes . The Psvane sound much better I like them . So are people using Shuguang Psvane Full music or something else ? I could spend maybe 400 - 450 a pair but are the pricey one that much better do they last long? Thoughts ........ Thanks lake513
I am using the 211 T mk2 tubes. Very nice. Input tube NOS Mullard 6DJ8 and NOS Tungsol 5687 in each mono block Amp. Started as a Consonance Cyber 211. Now with Tango trannies, Audio Note resistors and Duelund CAST caps. charles
i can say the original Siemens MKV capaciters are stunning too. Siemens sold these to Epcos but they are still available. It's a industrial capaciter with paperbase and oil with stunning technique and capabilities.Look for serie B25834 ( still a standard range, they have specials too)They are better then many "high end" capaciters and much more affordable too
Thank you for the information. Oils are nice to try.charles
great to see those lovely tubes. I still have gm70 at home but till now i didn't used them. My Sv572-10 is still going strong.
The SV572-10 is nice and sounded like 845 little brother, I have both -3 and -10 version. The GM70 is different class, it is true 120W tube, the SV572-10/-3 I believe should be rated for 70W at max, running at rated 125W, they wont last more than a week. I read somewhere that somebody recommend running at red hot plate... dont take it seriously...
The 572 have a low plate V option only 500V class A2.All the 572 versions 3,10,30,160 are suited to audio?
I asked why 30x and 160x are a lot of gain what makes sense in a ham radio.
What is the Pri Z for an 572-10 SE amp ?
