Hello. New guy here from N.W. Washington State. Long time audiophile, in fact it is my longest running hobby. In the last five years or so I have really started to get serious about putting together the best system I can. My musical tastes are (mainly) blues, jazz, Jazz vocals, classic rock, bluegrass and am exploring world music. Sources include Vinyl, CD and streaming Tidal and Qobus.
My system highlights: Dedicated listening/viewing room. This is a two channel A/V system that is optimized for two channel listening. It has a projector and a motorized screen so the theater part can be removed while listening to music. Speakers are Emerald Physics EP 2.7 open baffle's that have been tested and upgraded by GR Research of Texas. Amps are (currently) Emerald Physics EP100.2SE running as mono blocks. Preamp is Wyred 4 Sound STPre with stage 2 factory upgrades. Vinyl rig is Music Hall MMF 7 upgraded to almost 7.3 status (minus the DC motor) It is further enhanced with the full Mapleshade treatment. Cartridge is Ortofon 2M Black. Phono amp is Tavish Design Vintage model tube amp. Digital rig includes a Cambridge Audio CXC CD transport feeding a Wyred 4 Sound DAC2. Streaming is via phone/tablet with Bluetooth to a Wyred 4 Sound bLink BT /reclocker powered by a Wyred 4Sound PS1 Linear power supply. Sounds amazing close to CD.
All main components are on Mapleshade vibration control system (VCS) platforms on a home made rack. Of course there are many other Tweeks and video stuff.
I'm a finish carpenter/cabinet builder by trade and have build speakers in the past.
Looking forward to learning and maybe helping out around hear. I have been a member of A-gon for many years as well.
Cheers.
Jeff.
