Eligould introduction

Hello,

I own a pair of VMPS Ribbon Monitor 40, and I came to this site for help debugging an issue with my speakers. I was a car audio enthusiast in my younger days, and I graduated to home audio in my middle age. I bought the VMPS speakers on Craigslist knowing almost nothing about them other than they were in the right price range, they looked impressive, and the owner seemed very knowledgeable. When I auditioned the speakers, I was amazed at how interesting they made music sound. After taking them home and spending hours listening to them, I fell deeper in love with them, and now I consider them irreplaceable. I eventually upgraded my amplification to a McIntosh MA5300, and added an SVS SB16-Ultra to bolster sub-sonic response.

Welcome to A C, Mr. E.  Nice speakers you have there, read a lot of positive reviews about them.  The owner of the company would come to your site, set up and tune them to your room.  He used a soft putty on the woofer to tune the bass.  I can't remember where I read the above details.  Hopefully others more knowledgeable will be able to guide you better.  Jerry
