Power conditioner: do you leave it on all the time ?

Hi All,
I just ordered a Furman power conditioner (Furman Elite 15DM i) to replace an old, and I think failing, Monster Cable home theater power strip.  The MC was left 'on' all the time(it had no on-off switch), and I turn my respective AVA equipment on for use and off when I'm done. The Furman has some switched and some unstitched outlets. Asking advice: can I just leave the Furman unit 'on' all the time and turn my AVA equipment on and off as previous, or should I turn the Furman on and off with use?  Sorry if this is a stupid question, but asking advice from those with this or other similar power conditioners. Thanks in advance.

Leave the conditioner on and turn your gear on/off individually as you normally would. Remember, source gear and preamp should be turned on first. Turn the amp on last. When turning things off, do it in reverse...so turn off the amp first, then preamp, and so on.

This sequence is mostly important for folks with direct coupled preamps, especially tubes...but it's always good to get into the habit of this sequence (even if your current preamp isn't direct coupled) just in case you change gear in the future.

If you're going out of town for a week or something, then turn everything off, including the Furman. For added assurance, unplug it.

I have owned a Furman REF 20i for a very long time. I have never turned it off unless I was going to move around. Or unplug everything , or swap the duplex outlets.  It has turned ITSELF off due to a power surge. Once maybe twice over  at least fifteen years I have owned it. I bought it used too.
It actually is not going to matter a lot. If you want to turn it off. No problem. If you want to leave it on, also no problem.

Agree with RDavidson & Elisabeth, have had a Furman Elite 15 PFi for 12 years. It's only off on power failures, and if I'm moving equipment location. Won't hurt either way.
