Hello from Philadelphia
« on: 22 Nov 2019, 11:35 pm »
Just getting back into audio this year after many years of enjoying what I had and being mostly, but not quite, content.  I picked up a pair of Vandersteen 2ce Sig IIs a few months ago that I run with a Rogue Cronus Magnum 2 and Cambridge 851c cd/DAC.  I also set up a "vintage" office system with the too-large-for-an-office Klipsch Forte IIs and a pair of cheap and old, but great!, 20-25w tube monoblocks from Antique Sound Labs.  Just hooked up the brand new, $129 xfi zendac for the budget office system and it sounds way better than I expected.  I used to think I hated Klipsch...

If anyone is in or near Philadelphia, I'm always happy to meet other audiophiles and doing a little A/B test or two.

I used to think I hated Klipsch...

I once heard the Corner Horns driven with a 2A3 SET (3.5 watt tube amp). Not only was I was surprised by how unbelievably loud and authoritative it drove them, but by the overall quality of sound as well. I wonder how the new Klipsch speakers stack up against the old classics?

When was the last time you were in Philly?

Yesterday, did you hear of the tragedy in Rittenhouse Square the other day ? I've worked in and around Philly for over 45 years, my office was at 1528 Walnut St
