Up for sale here is one pair of Hawthorne Audio 10” Sterling Silver Iris coaxial drivers designed specifically for Open Baffle use and including crossovers. The Sterling Silver drivers were Hawthorne Audio’s top of the line drivers using a cast frame mid-woofer, a huge Radian 475 PB 1” throat aluminum diaphragm compression driver and quality crossover parts. The mid-woofers have a paper cone with an accordion cloth surround and were designed and made for Hawthorne Audio by Eminence.
If you have been thinking about an Open Baffle project this is a good opportunity to get some very nice drivers cheaply. These originally sold for about $1,400.00 the pair with crossovers.

I used the Hawthorne Audio coaxial drivers (both 10” and 15”) in many builds for customers over the years always with excellent results.
These drivers have low hours on them and are cosmetically and operationally in excellent condition. These were an extra pair I ended up with after I stopped building speakers.
These come with crossovers that use high quality parts; Goertz copper foil inductors and Claritycap ESA grade capacitors. The wiring is silver plated OFC with a Teflon jacket. They are built on solid mahogany plates.
Also included in the sale are two sets of backs for the Radian compression drivers, one pair with closed backs (stock) and one pair modified by me to have open backs for true di-pole operation.
Additionally I will supply a pair of black, ¾” thick Baltic birch mounting plates. These are used for mounting the woofer to the back of the baffle if your design calls for it. It does make things simpler for a lot of people. It also serves to isolate the driver from the baffle.
You can see the open Radian back plates and the black driver mounting plates in the picture of the driver mounted to the baffle. The stock Radian back plates are currently installed.
So, you get the drivers, crossovers, extra set of Radian back plates and mounting plates all for $375.00. No baffles are included. Buyer to Pay shipping, offered in the CONUS only.
These are very securely packed in one box 15" x 21" X 19" weighing 50 lbs. That should be all you need to calculate shipping to your destination prior to making an offer.
You will most likely need bass augmentation with these (depending on your listening tastes). If you already have a sub you're good to go.
