Will WBT spade connectors fit the binding posts on the 7B3 amplifier?

I'm awaiting delivery of a pair of Bryston 7B3s with the proprietary binding posts that many like to complain about. My speaker cables are terminated with WBT spades. Does anyone in the Bryston Circle run a similar set up? Will WBTs fit the Bryston posts?

I have them into my 4BSST no probs. If they’re still the same binding posts they can only be fed from the bottom.

My WBT will NOT FIT into my 4B-SST² without some cutting of the plastic 'protectors' around the amp posts. Instead I just used some cheap crimp terminals.
It is not the spade that doesn't fit. it is the plastic surrounds on BOTH the WBT and the amp get in each other's way.

That’s what I was afraid of.  I have some other spade lugs that may work, but I was hoping that the WBTs would fit the wonky Bryston binding posts.   I may just insert the crimp sleeved wire in my WBTs  into the binding post hole, as if it was bare wire. to start out.  I have also read in another forum of someone sending his amps to Bryston service in Vermont to have them install WBT binding posts.  But that sounds like an expensive solution.

Actually just sticking the crimp sleeve into the binding post is a great idea!  I wish I though if that!!!  :thumb:
The crimp part will certaily be 'messed up' sticking it in there (as far as shape goes) but WHO CARES...
I would guess bending down the sides of the WBT crimped sleeve (some ? how much? (but screwing down the post will certainly crush it good) would do the trick

The only issue that comes to mind is that it might be a real hassle to remove the bent crimp sleeved wire once it has been crushed around the binding post after tightening.  Can the plastic components of the Bryston binding post be easily disassembled?

Hi Folks

If you remove the protective plastic from around the binding post it will not meet Safety standards.  Under no conditions can the positive and negative terminals have any bare metal showing which would allow a short.

Thanks for joining in, James.  I asked about disassembly in case my crimp sleeved wire became stuck in the post hole after tightening when, at some future point, I attempt to disconnect the speaker cable.  I am not planning to remove the plastic housing for routine use.  If the post hole is not too far away from the back side of the binding post, this may not be a problem.  In any event, I think I have a banana solution for the connection problem.  Just trying to think this through before the amps arrive next week.  I’m moving from the 7BST to the 7B3 and am looking forward to some good sounds.

I use Cardas banana plugs on the spades of Cardas speaker wire on my 4bsst2.

Great - please let me know what you think of the differences.

Well, the new 7B3s are terrific, much better than the 7BSTs.  Bass is better controlled and extended, dynamics are improved, and the overall presentation is fuller and more musical.  I really like them.  The STs are excellent amps and served me well for many years, but the 7B3s are a major step up in musical enjoyment.

And I found some spade lugs that I swapped in for the WBTs that fit the 7B3 binding posts just fine.
