Experience with old Crown Amps
« on: 8 Oct 2019, 11:13 am »
Discovered this forum from a Google search. It scratched my itch to discuss hobby-level home audio systems.  As I near retirement I decided to build a couple systems (one for our home and another for out cottage) around vintage analog amps that I used to see in my band days.

Have completely enjoyed snagging two old Crown PS-200s for $88 and $125 respectively, getting them serviced and building two different systems around them....a 6U rack system for our cottage and a "rat rod" minimalist set up for our living room at home.

What a hoot it has been!

Fishing among forum members for examples of other "retro" builds....

Older production model with rack handles. Very musical through older Cerwin Vega bookshelves and an old Jensen sub.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
