I have just bought a generic remote that is programmed to work with my amp. All of the functions work, except volume up. Volume down works and the power light indicates that it is receiving the IR signal.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

Update - it appears to affect both up and down. I can pull the knob out slightly (0.5mm) and it will work again briefly.
