Kickstarter for Michael Weiss | Soul Journey | AAA Vinyl

Hello everyone,

Pianist Michael Weiss here. My recording Soul Journey was recorded all analog and previously released on CD. Now I am raising funds to press it on vinyl in a limited edition of 500 copies. The original tapes are in perfect condition and sound great.
Soul Journey was recorded and mixed to tape by Joe Ferla at Avatar Studios in New York. It will be mastered and cut to vinyl directly from the tape by Bernie Grundman and pressed by QRP onto two 150g LPs. Jerome Sabbagh is my vinyl project manager and will meticulously monitor the entire mastering and pressing process.

Update:
I wanted to let you know about a new exciting reward, limited to 3 backers. I will be offering unplayed new original pressings of my first record, "Presenting Michael Weiss" (Criss Cross), recorded all analog by legendary engineer Rudy Van Gelder, in addition to "Soul Journey".

Mike are these all studio recordings ? I tried to buy the CDs at your site. Could not figure out how, please advise. BTW good luck with LP.

Thanks for your inquiry.
Yes, the recording and mix was done to tape at Avatar Studios in NY by Joe Ferla in 2000. The CD was released in 2003 and is still available for sale through cdbaby.com

I've heard the tape, I think it sounds great and I think this will be a great sounding album, especially spread over 4 sides. I'm hoping the project will succeed and I am encouraging everyone to participate while there is still time. Only 11 days left ...

I don't really understand why this is in Industry Introductions...Michael is a living, breathing artist who has a release coming out, if supported. I don't think he's in the 'industry' as a manufacturer but as a musician. Regardless, this kickstarter is really worthy of support if you love jazz and want to help a breathing player and creator.

Soul Journey Vinyl Kickstarter Project Relaunched Today!
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who supported my first Kickstarter attempt. We had a nice surge in pledges toward the end but fell just a little short. I’ve listened to your ideas and concerns and decided to relaunch the project for another 30 day campaign. I really want us to be successful this time so I am reducing the funding goal to $10,000 (we raised over that last time).
