Hi From Thailand

Hi I'm not an audiophile but I do like old hi-fi and found these forums a goldmine of information.

I have just got some low end late 80's equipment some working and some not, hopefully I can find some more good advice here to help me on my 'back to the 80's' hi-fi adventure.

Welcome to AudioCircle, SteveTH!

Wow, that's Salada buttons! I didn't know that Nakamichi made anything "low end," ;) but with all those buttons they must be good!

First step in restarting old equipment is to test the power supplies. If you find bad voltages or noisy DC replace the electrolytic storage caps as they are prone to fail after 4 decades.

Welcome to AudioCircle SteveTH, I am sure you will have fun here.
Never put your equipment down, I am sure it will sound good and you will enjoy it. I am a Nakamichi fan too, I have a CR-7.

Welcome (ยินดี ต้อน รับ สู่).

Made a few great trips to Bangkok and other areas in Thailand in the past four years.  Love the country, people, culture and the food.

Both times I tried to get to nOrh's facility to maybe get in a tour but schedules were just too tight.  I've always found their designs intriguing.  When I think of Thailand nOrh always comes to mind.

Enjoy the site.  Tons of good stuff here.

Hey!

Great Scott! You want to go back to the 80's?! First you'll need a DeLorean!

I'm Thai currently in NYC and it is nice to see a new member from Thailand. And I'm not surprised to see that you have tape deck there. I grew up with cassette tapes back when I was very young back in Thailand, cassette was very popular back then in Thailand.

  Anyway, welcome to Audio Circle.
